Decision- making of the treatment of colon cancer for the older patients becomes more complicated in consequence of comorbidities and geriatric syndromes, most importantly frailty. In the present study, we aimed to investigate whether there is a difference between tumour characteristics, treatment choices, and outcomes between the younger and older adults.
The patients who were diagnosed with colorectal carcinoma in our centre between 2010 and 2015 included. Clinicopathological features of tumour, treatment choices and survivals of the patients were recorded. Patients were separated into two groups according to their chronological age.
The present study included 465 patients, there were 173 patients aged 65?years and older. Clinicopathological features were similar in both groups. Adjuvant chemotherapy was given in similar rates. Whereas combination chemotherapies were preferred in younger patients as first-line therapy, single agents were given to the older group(p-value?&lt;?0.001). No significant dif frequently as first-line chemotherapy, and less frequently targeted therapy. Their mortality was higher. It was shown that decision-making of colon cancer therapy is influenced by age according to our results.Cancer is a threat to human health, and many molecules are involved in the transformation of malignant cells. HNF1A was abnormally expressed in multiple cancers, and its expression was associated with differences in overall survival in patients with cancer. HNF1A mutations widely exist in tumors and interact with different genes involved in various processes. Additionally, we found that HNF1A was associated with the infiltration of immune cells, and it affected the prognostic value of these cells in some cancers.

HNF1A plays a crucial role in cancer, and it may represent a biomarker and target for future cancer immunotherapy.Virtual fracture clinics (VFCs) are advocated by recent British Orthopaedic Association Standards for Trauma and Orthopaedics (BOASTs) to efficiently manage injuries during the COVID-19 pandemic. The primary aim of this national study is to assess the impact of these standards on patient satisfaction and clinical outcome amid the pandemic. The secondary aims are to determine the impact of the pandemic on the demographic details of injuries presenting to the VFC, and to compare outcomes and satisfaction when the BOAST guidelines were first introduced with a subsequent period when local practice would be familiar with these guidelines.
This is a national cross-sectional cohort study comprising centres with VFC services across the UK. All consecutive adult patients assessed in VFC in a two-week period pre-lockdown (6 May 2019 to 19 May 2019) and in the same two-week period at the peak of the first lockdown (4 May 2020 to 17 May 2020), and a randomly selected sample during the 'second wave' (October 2020) wilthrough VFCs and whether this is safe and associated with patient satisfaction. These data will provide key information for future expert-led consensus on management of trauma injuries through the VFC. The protocol will be disseminated through conferences and peer-reviewed publication. The prerequisite of salvaging ischemic myocardium and improving cardiac function of patients is to provide adequate blood perfusion in the infarcted area. Apart from reperfusion therapy, it is also urgent and imperative to promote angiogenesis. Recently, growing evidence based on promising preclinical data indicates that mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) can provide therapeutic effects on AMI by promoting angiogenesis. Extracellular vesicles (EVs), membrane-encapsulated vesicles with complex cargoes, including proteins, nucleic acids, and lipids, can be derived from MSCs and represent part of their functions, so EVs also possess the ability to promote angiogenesis. However, poor control of the survival and localization of MSCs hindered clinical transformation and made scientists start looking for new approaches based on MSCs. The CK and GK samples were first stored at +4?°C for 14 and 21?days. Thereafter, all the samples were frozen at -35?°C for 24?h and kept at -18?°C for 45?days. There was no significant change in the fat, protein, acidity and pH values in both samples during the storage. The values of viscosity, WI and C* were higher in the CK samples while the syneresis value was higher in the GK samples throughout the frozen storage. The microorganisms (Lactococcus spp., Lactobacillus spp., Leuconostoc spp., total mesophilic aerobic bacteria and yeasts) found in kefir made from goat's milk were more affected from the frozen storage. In both samples, the changes in organic acids and volatile flavor components were not significant during frozen storage, except acetic, citric and oxalic acids and acetaldehyde in GK sample. In addition, CK samples were preferred sensorially more by the panellists during frozen storage.
